How to join Serving Seniors as a Business Member

If you serve seniors and their families, become a Business Member or Community Partner of 'Serving Seniors,' and help serve Seniors better.

Business Membership is open to individuals in business who provide services or products to Seniors.
Click here if you are a non-profit and wish to join as a Community Partner.

Each chapter allows only one Business Member per profession or business category. All Members are encouraged to nominate someone to fill a vacant business category in any chapter. If your local chapter already has a Business Member in your business category, check out a neighbouring chapter, or help start another chapter. There are waiting lists. If you are considering becoming a Business Member, we urge you to first contact our Membership Committee by email.

To become a Business Member, you must:

  • complete a membership application form;
  • provide three satisfactory references;
  • pay a pro-rated annual membership fee ($80);
  • agree to comply with our policies and guidelines;
  • commit to attend one-half of the meetings each year (members may nominate one proxy to attend meetings in their absence).

To remain a Business Member:

  • A Business Member or their nominated proxy must attend one-half of the meetings each year to remain in good standing;
  • A Business Member who misses four consecutive meetings is considered to have resigned;
  • Only Business Members in good standing may renew their memberships;
  • Business Members in danger of failing to meet their attendance quota are placed on probation and must then attend five of the next six meetings to remain in good standing;
  • Ex-members and expired members must wait 12 months before re-applying.

Guests and potential members are welcome, but they may attend a meeting once only: they must then decide whether to become a Business Member.

The Serving Seniors year runs from Oct 1 to Sep 30. Business Memberships fees are due on Oct 1, or on the date of approval. New Business Members will have their fees pro-rated by one-fifth per quarter when they joining in the second ($60), third ($45) or fourth ($30) quarters. Business Members will also have their attendance quota pro-rated.

Join Serving Seniors as a Community Partner

Our Community Partners are non-voting associates and include charities, non-profits, community groups and program providers who directly serve Seniors.

Community Partners are encouraged to attend as many meetings as possible, but unlike Business Members, Community Partners are not obligated to attend one-half of all meetings to remain in good standing.

Community Partners pay one-third the annual fee ($27, pro-rated) and there is no category exclusivity. If you are considering becoming a Community Partner, we urge you to first contact our Membership Committee by email.

To join, please complete a member application form (click on the button on the left). For Community Partners, under 'Business Category' indicate 'Community Partner.' Community Partners may leave the 'Professional References' blank.
